Dear friends and visitors,

It has been a year and a half since I updated my website. It seems like only yesterday I did the last update … time passes so quickly. During the last year and a half I have been busy enjoying new challenges. I have added updates in all areas of my site now so I hope you find some new things that inspire you.

Here is a list of the new additions:

One-of-a-kind Gallery

I've added seven new pieces to my One-Of-A-Kind gallery.

Limited Editions Gallery

I sold a new yawning baby chick and a picture of it is now in the Limited Edition section of the gallery.

Bronze Gallery

You will find seven new bronze pieces have been added to the Bronze section along with a new "Virtual Foundry Tour." The Virtual Foundry Tour explains how a bronze piece is created. In actuality I think I have spent more time in the last year exploring the fine arts area than I have spent sculpting dolls. It just seemed smart since the market has been slower in the doll area to spend time developing my fine art skills while I had time.

Tangents

Three new things have been added to the Tangents section of the gallery. I did a hood ornament for my PT Cruiser, started designing and making some unique jewelry, and I have pictures of a strange ceramic foot I sculpted at NCECA.

News

The book by Kathryn Witt Contemporary American Doll Artists and Their Dolls will be ready for purchase on August 8, 2004. Just as an aside; I have recently signed a contract with another doll company. I will let you know when any of them will be available for purchase.

Classes

In my Classes section I have added a Hints and Tips section to help other sculptors. The first lesson is about how I build armatures for polymer figures.

Links

I have added a couple of links, too. Christine Ruggle sculpts very interesting fairies and my good friend Kay West does beautiful beaded jewelry. As of July, 2004 both of their sites are still being built so be patient. Their work is wonderful though so come back often to see them if you can.

I hope you find the new additions fun to look at and interesting to ponder.

                                                        Warmly,
                                                                      Karen
