This sculpture was fun for me to do. I wanted to do a doll that was cute and adorable, and still had a slightly deeper meaning than most. She just sort of happened painlessly, without much effort on my part.
She has small glass eyes with added hand painted highlights to give them more interest and color. The top part of her dress is a quality art paper rather than
material. I find papers often have more defined detailing than fabric. This small detailing works well with small sculptures. I sculpted the flowers in her hair and the flower that she holds in her hand. Her hair is made of Tibetan goat hair.
Her poem tells the story of what she is thinking about as she sits on her rock. I left it somewhat open in meaning so that it would not grow stale with time. Many directions of thought can be taken when pondering life and where we came from. I hope she brings you much happiness and joy, and many hours of quiet pondering.
